36 Weeks Post Ovulation - Third Trimester
Body is round and plump with new fat.
Fetal size: weight about 6 pounds (2.75kg). Its crown-to-rump length is over 13.5 inches (34cm), and total length is 20.7 inches (46cm).

Mother's size: From the pubic symphysis measures approximately 14.5 inches (36cm) to the top of your uterus. If you measure from your bellybutton, it’s more than 5.5 inches (14cm) to the top of your uterus.

Body is round and plump as new fat stores are made to keep the body temperature at about 0.3 degrees C to 0.5 degrees C above maternal temperature.
(1) Fetus turns toward light sources in what is known as the orienting response. Intestines accumulate a considerable amount of meconium which is usually eliminated shortly after birth. If birth is delayed, the fecal material will appear in the amniotic fluid.

Space limitation continues to restrict fetal movement. Limbs are bent and drawn close to body. Bones are flexible and ossification, hardening, progresses. At birth the tibia, the longer of the two bones in the lower leg, is usually completely ossified into bone.
